DataScientia empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to engage in cutting-edge research spanning various fields, including sciences and humanities. DataScientia facilitates participation for people of all ages by providing opportunities to contribute to genuine discoveries. With many ongoing online DataScientia projects, participants can unlock answers and make meaningful contributions. Utilizing the free project builder, researchers from various disciplines have developed accessible and engaging citizen science projects. The data generated from these endeavors has fueled numerous publications, fostering a wealth of captivating discoveries.
What do we do with data?
We follow an end-to-end data management process that covers all the phases from their collection to their use towards innovation. The process is organized in four main steps, all of them fully privacy and ethics aware:
- We collect them.
- We store them
- We do purpose-driven data composition
- We enable third parties to find and use them
How do we do what we do?
We follow a general end-to-end process and methodology called iTelos, which integrates the five activities mentioned above for the five data types. Via iTelos, the input data are composed into application-ready knowledge graphs ready to be deployed.
We support collecting data and media by interested people and communities based on the iTelos methodology.
We develop and make available language and knowledge resources that empower the purpose-driven data composition process.
We use a pool of open-source tools which support the application of iTelos.
