On Tuesday 30h April 2024, Simone Bocca from the Data Scentia Community gave a presentation as a guest speaker to Data Club’s Meetups in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Data for digital and other services has gained significant attention in Mongolia, which has prioritised digital transformation as a key development area since 2020. Simone Bocca shared his extensive expertise with a presentation on ‘Data Quality and Interoperability: Methodology for Knowledge Graph Construction’ during the 15th series of Meetups. The presentation attracted data enthusiasts and was followed by a lively discussion.

The testimony offered useful insights on using complex data for public policy, highlighted the importance of data science in improving public administration, and proved the relevance of LivePeople research for social impact initiatives.
During the meetup, Simone Bocca addressed the pressing issue of creating new data by reusing existing data to reduce the cost of the data creation process. He proposes using existing data to create Knowledge Graphs, representing the local information diversity related to real-world persons, objects, or events.
It stores this information in a graph format, making it easy to see relationships between them. According to him, diversity offers an opportunity to save relevant data and expand it for better efficiency. The Knowledge Graph, in turn, helps to organise and link information between itself, which makes it easier to integrate and reuse.
