DataScientia at DRTC-ISI Conference 2026

DataScientia recently participated in DRTC-ISI Conference 2026, an international conference hosted by the Documentation Research and Training Centre (DRTC) at the Indian Statistical Institute in Bangalore, India. The event brought together researchers, librarians, and data professionals to discuss emerging trends in library and information science, digital knowledge infrastructures, and data management practices.

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is a partner of DataScientia, with the two institutions having signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration in research, education, and data science initiatives. Participation in LIB-BRIDGE 2026 further reflects this growing partnership and the shared commitment to advancing knowledge infrastructures.

Representing DataScientia, its coordinator Fausto Giunchiglia delivered a talk titled This Missing Long Tail of the Semantic Web”. The talk highlighted how the current “all-or-nothing” approach to ontology adoption creates socio-technical barriers to ontology reuse.

Participation in DRTC-ISI Conference 2026 provided DataScientia with an opportunity to engage with the international library and information science community and contribute to discussions on the future of open, interoperable, and inclusive knowledge infrastructures.
